About the Owner

A Musician on Both Sides of the Glass

Lou Manero (Meinero) has spent his life around loud amps and live rooms - first as a working bassist and vocalist on the South Florida club circuit, and today as the owner and in-house engineer at Lights, Action, Music Studios in Longwood. That history is the reason bands trust the room: the person behind the console has stood on the other side of the mic, tracked his own records, and knows what a band needs to sound like itself.

Through the late 1980s and 1990s, Lou played bass and sang in Motor, a hard-rock band out of Pompano Beach that self-produced and released two albums. Decades later he keeps that same DIY spirit at the studio - hands-on, artist-first, and built for the working musician rather than the tourist.

Motor

A five-piece hard-rock band that wrote, produced, and released everything itself. Lou played bass and sang; the band pressed two albums on its own Reptile Records imprint.

Motor was a true independent: no outside label, no signed contract. The band self-financed the sessions, produced the records themselves, and released them on their own Reptile Records imprint out of South Florida.

The catalog holds up as a snapshot of the early-'90s Florida hard-rock scene - two albums of original material, written and arranged by the band, now being preserved and archived for streaming. Explore the full discography below.
